Theater Of The Absurd From…Wait For It…CNN
On Tuesday, just as news was breaking across the wires, Jake Tapper was apprised by CNN Crime and Justice reporter covering the FBI and law enforcement that three sources had told the NYPD the driver of the truck that killed 8 people and injured 11 was yelling “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar” leading authorities to believe the attack was an “act of terrorism”.
Tapper proceeded to say, I shit you not, “The Arabic chant, Allahu Akbar, God is great, sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances, and too often we hear it being said in moments like this.”
The Director of Jihad Watch, Robert Spencer, wanted to set the record straight. He said media outlets “routinely mangle the true meaning of Allahu Akbar. It actually translates as “Allah is greater.” Spencer makes sure to tell us chief 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta explained in a four-page letter to himself the purpose of shouting those words was “to strike terror in the hearts of the enemies of Allah. When the confrontation starts, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world.”

I said the words can be said in beautiful circumstances (wedding, birth) and also too often at times like this. PJMedia lying per usual— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) November 1, 2017
All sorts of things can be said at weddings and births. It's an inane point that purposely begs the question: the nature of our enemy. https://t.co/n73CFSpfdQ— Andrew Klavan (@andrewklavan) November 1, 2017
But in conjunction with a suicide bombing, a truck rampage, a knife, acid, or gun attack, it’s generally regarded as a CLUE, grasshopper. https://t.co/ukV7G4FAUQ— James Woods (@RealJamesWoods) November 1, 2017
I just saw a TV reporter pronouncing it as ‘aloo akbar’ which literally translates to ‘potatoes are the greatest’ https://t.co/6qLi52fU2y— Aisha Sultan (@AishaS) October 31, 2017
I've been radicalized. I just want to shout "potatoes are the greatest" all the time now.— TI Land (@tri3671) November 1, 2017
